Team Time Trial Questions:
1. Q: Can a team be composed of riders from different clubs?
A: Yes, teammates do not have to be on the same USCF club to be part of the same 'team'.

2. Q: How many members are on a team?
A: four

3. Q: How is the time calculated for the team?
A: the team time is the time of the third rider. Thus, at least three riders must finish.

4. Q: Can a Cat 4 rider ride on a cat 3 team?
A: Yes, riders can race up but the Cat 4 rider will earn TXBRA points in the Cat 3 area. Riders can not race down however. The team category is determined by the highest category that any of the participants have. Three Cat V's and one Cat 1 must race as a Pro 1/2 team.

5. Q: Can you take a 30+ racer and a 50+ racer and race in the 45+ age group by averaging the total ages?
A: No, the age group for the team is the age group of the youngest rider. In this case 30+

6. Q: Can you register for a team if you aren't certain who all the members are going to be?
A: Yes, as long as the members are all elgible for the event registered then you don't have to have them all down when you register on Bike.reg.com

 

7.  Q:  Can you have mixed woman and men teams?
A:  Yes, The mixed team would have to race in the Open categories.  Woman racers 2 thru 4 are allowed to race one skill level down in mixed teams, Cat 1 Woman racers can race two categories down.  Cat 3 or 4 Woman who are 35 years or older can race up to 20 years older in mixed teams.

Team Time Trial Rules:
Only teams composed entirely of USCF annual licensed riders are eligible for championship medals.
You can have mixed sex teams
Only teams comprised entirely of Texas racers (with an annual license) are eligible for medals but teams comprised of out of state riders can compete
Only road bicycles (which includes TT bikes) shall be used (except in the tandem events). That means no recumbents.
The starting interval between teams will be two minutes.
No team shall take pace behind another team closer than 25 meters (80 feet) ahead, or 2 meters (7 feet) to the side.
